Social Media Manager

Part-Time, Remote

We are looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to oversee Women on Web’s (WoW) social media presence across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok. The Social Media Manager will design, create, and schedule engaging content to support outreach efforts and enhance the organization’s identity. They will also design graphics, monitor engagement, and analyze performance metrics to optimize WoW’s social media strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities: 

    • Curate and maintain monthly Women on Web (WoW) social media calendars, consolidating efforts across all platforms in close coordination with the coordination team. 
    • Create 8 high-quality posts per month for the main account. 
    • Incorporate partner stories and events into content while aligning with WoW’s mission. 
    • Design graphics for posts and campaigns, including digital suppression advocacy. 
    • Monitor social media mentions, track sentiment, and provide insights. 
    • Collaborate on digital campaigns with the coordination team. 
    • Report on social media performance and recommend strategies every 6 months. 

Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in digital marketing, communications, graphic design, or public relations 
    • Proficient in visual design and typography, with strong photo selection, editing skills, and expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere). 
    • Competence in content creation tools like Canva, Adobe Spark, or similar. 
    • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, analytics, and trends. 
    • Excellent communication skills and attention to visual detail. 
    • Fluent in English (C2); bilingualism is an asset. 
    • Familiarity with the abortion movement is a strong asset. 

Compensation: 

The base freelance fee is 700 CAD per month for the agreed deliverables, with potential adjustments depending on the scope of responsibilities and further agreements.
