Women on Web celebrates Int Abortion Day by supporting Martynka and protesting in Spain!
Dear friends and colleagues,
Women on Web is joining forces with our friends and colleagues at Martynka
Women on Web is joining forces with our friends and colleagues at Martynka to help Ukrainian refugees access abortion care and psychological and legal support. 🇺🇦
Ukraine is disappearing from the front pages of newspapers, but Ukrainians need help now.
Martynka is a female-led Ukrainian grassroots organization based in Poland. They help Ukrainian evacuees access abortion, emergency contraception, and safe accommodation and offer holistic informational, legal, and psychological support around human trafficking and sexual violence.
Our goal is for Martynka to secure the funding they urgently need to continue their much-needed work.

Women on Web demands unrestricted access to abortion information and care in Madrid
Women on Web team came together in Madrid to celebrate International Safe Abortion Day and demand unrestricted access to abortion information and legal, free, and safe abortion care in Spain and everywhere in the world! Our team took the streets of Madrid and plastered stickers around the city, demanding the Spanish government to unblock our website.
In October 2022, the Supreme Court of Spain ordered a partial unblocking of our website, which has been inaccessible since 2020.
This would have been a significant victory for our reproductive rights in Spain, Europe, and worldwide, only in reality, our website remains totally censored despite the ruling. The right to information and freedom of expression on the Internet is critical for people to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights.
This censorship is only adding more barriers to accessing safe abortion services!

In solidarity,
