Giving Lectures to the medical students in the University of Groningen
We give lectures to the medical students in the universities about safe medical abortion to disseminate information about madical abortion and to give information about Mifepristone and Misoprostol. And also about the process. And telling about Women On Waves/Web organisations and how they care to help women who suffered greatly due to lack of access to reproductive health services in the countries where safe and legal abortion does not exist to save their lives.
Approximately 25% of the world's population live in countries with highly restrictive abortion laws. Legalization of abortion can prevent the unnecessary suffering and death of women.
According to WHO "Each year, 44 million women have abortion. Approximately 22 million women worldwide still undergo an unsafe abortion resulting in an estimated 47.000 deaths." Medical abortion by women themselves can save women’s lives.
And as the right to health has been recognized in numerous international human rights treaties.
Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive, and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”
And telling how the work has grown. And showing photos of the activities and campaigns and training and lectures and tactics to reach out all the women in need around the world.
